I LOVE NY

** FILE ** New York State Gov. Hugh Carey holds up an "I Love New York" t-shirt in Albany, N.Y., in this file photo of Oct. 9, 1977. Since graphic designer Milton Glaser sat in the back of a taxicab that same year and sketched the first "I Love New York" logo to promote tourism throughout New York State, the logo has become over time, and throughout the world, specifically associated with New York City. Now, three decades after the campaign first entered the pop-culture lexicon, state tourism officials are hoping to reclaim the I Love New York brand and convince more visitors to venture beyond the borders of the nation's largest city.
