A service of thanksgiving and praise inaugurating the centenary celebrations of The Press Association, Britain's national news agency, in progress at St. Bride's Church, Fleet Street. At the lectern in centre, reading the Bidding, is Lord Buckton, Chairman of Portsmouth and Sunderland newspapers and one of the two most senior past directors of The Press Association. The service was attended by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lord Mayor of London and representatives of the Press from London, the Provinces and overseas as well as members of the PA staff and pensioners. During the service the Archbishop dedicated commemorated and commemorated the glass doors presented to the church by The Press Association.
