'LUSITANIA' : The Liner 'Lusitania' moored in the Mersey, Christmas 1911. Delivered in 1907, the 'Lusitania' was torpedoed by the German U-20 12 miles off the Old Head of Kinsale, Ireland on 7th May 1915. The loss of life among American passengers is thought to have had a direct influence on the United States' decision to enter the First World War.
