A look at an N.W.T. community battling wildfire

A wildfire has forced the evacuation of the remote community of Fort Good Hope in the Northwest Territories. Evacuees sent to Norman Wells were welcomed at that town's arena. Fire planes have been laying down retardant as flames sparked up near Normal Wells, while residents protected cabins and worked to keep the flames down. A helicopter was also seen dropping buckets of water on the fire. (June 18, 2024)
