Canada boosts COVID-19 foreign aid by $485M

Canada’s foreign aid budget is swelling noticeably today with International Development Minister Karina Gould’s promise of $485 million for the global effort to provide COVID-19 vaccines to poor countries. The new funds are going to the Access to COVID-19 Tools, or “ACT Accelerator," a World Health Organization-led program to help low- and middle-income countries with medical treatments and diagnostic tools to battle the pandemic.
