Leah Dorion reads her new book, The Giving Tree: A Retelling of a Traditional Metis Story to her six year old son, Louis Lafferty, who inspired her to write the book. Dorion might be known more for her paintings, but following the birth of her son she's launched into a lifelong passion of storytelling. Six years after the Prince Albert resident started writing her first children's book, titled ôThe Giving Tree: A Retelling of a Traditional Metis Story,ö the final printed copy has arrived and combines her paintings, storytelling, and a desire to keep Metis legends alive.
