KEVORKIAN

Dr. Jack Kevorkian, shown in this December l995 file photo, wheeled the body of a woman into a hospital in Pontiac, Mich., Tuesday night, Aug. 6, 1996, saying she had died in his presence after suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease. Kevorkian identified the woman as Elizabeth Mertz, 59, of Cincinnati, according to an emergency room physician. It was the 34th suicide Kevorkian has assisted since 1990 and the sixth since his most recent court victory, on May 14. (AP Photo/Richard Sheinwald, File)
