Newsroom Ready: ‘Anne with an E,’ ‘Schitt’s Creek’ lead Canadian Screen Awards

The CBC series “Anne with an E” and “Schitt’s Creek” are the leading nominees for this year’s Canadian Screen Awards with 15 nods apiece, while the best-picture nominees are all French-language. This year’s show won’t have a host. The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, which administers the awards, says the overall crop of nominees reflect the country’s strong comedic and female talents.
