Newsroom Ready: Canada lists criminal organizations as terrorist entities to fight fentanyl trafficking

Public Safety Minister David McGuinty and RCMP Commissioner, Michael Duheme say seven transnational criminal organizations are being listed as terrorist entities under the Criminal Code to fight fentanyl trafficking. The move fulfils a promise made by Canada to President Donald Trump as part of its upgraded border plan to try and stave off punishing U.S. import tariffs. (Feb. 20, 2025)
