Newsroom Ready: Immigration minister lifts some border restrictions on families

Some families with unusual citizenship statuses have been separated by the COVID-19-induced restrictions on crossing the United States border into Canada and the federal government is making changes to let them reunite, says Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino. Immediate family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be allowed in, subject to public health restrictions and self-isolation rules.
