Newsroom Ready: Justice minister criticizes delay tactics on assisted-dying bill

Justice Minister David Lametti says many people will suffer needlessly if new legislation on assisted dying doesn’t pass before a court-imposed deadline of Dec. 18 due to an ongoing filibuster by the Conservatives. Lametti said the resulting legal vacuum would create uncertainty in Quebec and have a chilling effect on medical practitioners there.
