Newsroom Ready: Ottawa, AFN announce $23B compensation for child-welfare discrimination

The federal government, Assembly of First Nations and legal counsel for a related class action announced a revised $23B child-welfare settlement. The new deal includes an extra $3 billion from Ottawa to compensate First Nations children and families who were separated as a result of its underfunding of on-reserve child-welfare.
