Newsroom Ready: Thousands pay tribute to fallen soldiers at Remembrance Day ceremonies in Toronto, Montreal

Hundreds of people gathered for Montreal's Remembrance Day ceremony in downtown's Place du Canada, where members of the armed forces, veterans and dignitaries converged to honour the dead. Quebec Premier François Legault, Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante and federal immigration minister Marc Miller were among those who placed wreaths at the foot of the towering cenotaph at the centre of the public square. Meanwhile, hundreds of people attended a sombre Remembrance Day ceremony outside of Old City Hall in Toronto where Mayor Olivia Chow spoke to the crowd. (Nov. 11 2023)
