O'Toole questions why inflation missing from Freeland mandate letter

Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole asked Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland why inflation was not mentioned in the mandate letter she received from the prime minister on Thursday. She accused O'Toole of misleading Canadians, saying the GDP grew 5.4 per cent in the third quarter and Canada has recouped all the jobs lost during the pandemic. O'Toole hit back at the accusation, pointing to a tweet of Freeland's that was flagged as misleading during the election campaign.
