SEATTLE SLEW OBIT

Jockey Jean Cruget stands up in his saddle and celebrates after guiding Seattle Slew to victory June 11, 1977 in the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park in Elmont, N. Y. The win gave Slew horse racing's Triple Crown. Slew, who went on to become one of thoroughbred racing's greatest sires, died Tuesday, May 7 2002. The champion race horse, the last of the living Triple Crown winners, died in its stall while sleeping, a Hill 'n' Dale Farm spokeswoman said. (AP Photo/File)
