Three Indian nationals charged in killing of B.C. Sikh activist

Three men have each been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to murder temple leader and Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The killing last June caused friction between the Indian and Canadian governments after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told Parliament there was credible intelligence India may have been involved. India has denied the claim. (May 3, 2024)
