Toronto on the brink of transit strike

The president of the largest union of Toronto transit workers says its nearly 12,000 members are ready to strike as negotiations with the Toronto Transit Commission hit an impasse. ATU Local 113 president Marvin Alfred says wages, benefits and job security are among the union’s top issues at the negotiating table ahead of a 12:01 a.m. strike deadline Friday. (June 6, 2024)
