Trudeau claims progress in D.C., but Biden unmoved on electric-vehicle dispute

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau insisted Thursday that Canada made progress in its talks with Joe Biden, but the president showed little willingness to budge on his controversial U.S. tax credit proposal for electric vehicles. The proposal, if passed as is, would kneecap the Canadian auto industry because it heavily favours American-made cars built with U.S. union labour.
