KAZEMI-TORTURE

Dr. Shahram Azam, the doctor who examined Canadian journalist Zahra Kazemi in an Iranian hospital before she died, describes the head wounds and other injuries that could have only been the result of systematic beatings and rape, at a news conference in Ottawa, Thursday March 31, 2005. Azam examined the dying woman after she was transferred from prison to his Tehran hospital unconscious and on a stretcher on June 27, 2003. (CP PHOTO/Tom Hanson)
