Bonfire 10th Anniversary

FILE - In this Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1996 file photo, Texas A&M University students huddle in front of a bonfire, in College Station, Texas. The bonfire, which was under construction, collapsed Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, killing 12. The most hallowed tradition in the eyes of many Aggies was bonfire, an annual event dating back to 1909 where students spent months building a 59-foot-high, wedding cake-like stack of more than 5,000 logs that was burned on the eve of A&M's football game against archrival Texas. Now as the campus prepares to commemorate the 10-year-anniversary of the collapse, discussion revolves not only on remembering the fallen Aggies but whether bonfire is still truly representative of A&M's values and goals (AP Photo/Bryan College Station Eagle, Butch Ireland, File)
