RWANDA TRIBUNAL

Casting his shadow over a projected map of Rwanda, the former commander of the United Nation force in Rwanda during the country's 1994 genocide, Canadian Gen. Romeo Dallaire, returns to his seat on the witness stand after using the map to help him answer a question posed by a defense attorney, at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, in Arusha, Tanzania, Wednesday, February 25, 1998. Dallaire was subpoenaed by the lawyer of Jean-Paul Akayesu, who is on trial on charges of genocide. Dallairegave his account of the weeks that led up to the large scale massacres which left more than one-half million Rwandan Tutsis and moderate Hutus murdered. (AP Photo/Brennan Linsley)
