Islanders Leaving Long Island

This May 14, 1976 file photo shows New York Nets Julius Erving, second from right, rebounding against the Denver Nuggets at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, in Uniondale, N.Y. The then-New York Nets played four seasons at the coliseum from 1972-76, winning two American Basketball Association championships, led by Long Island native and future Hall-of-Famer Erving. Ironically, the Nets also now call Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, home, moving there in 2012 after decades in New Jersey. (AP Photo/Richard Drew, File)
