In this May 25, 1963, file photo, Andy Granatelli, car building and owner, leans over to congratulate Bobby Unser after the Albuquerque, N.M., driver qualified one of the V-8 Novi-powered racers for the Indianapolis 500 auto race in Indianapolis. The rookie driver was fastest qualifier, averaging 149.421 mph for four-laps. Two other Novis, one driven by Jim Hurtubise and the other by rookie Art Malone, qualified for the race. (AP Photo/File)
