From left to right they are Denis Violet, Bill Foulkes, Matt Busby, manager, Harry Gregg, Albert Scanlon, and Bobby Charlton. Bill Foulkes, who survived the 1958 Munich air disaster, died Monday, Nov. 25,. 2013 the club said. He was 81. Foulkes, who left a mining job to join United in 1950, went on to play 688 times after making his debut in 1952. Only Ryan Giggs, Bobby Charlton and Paul Scholes have played more times for the club.
