Italy Mussolini Film

FILE - In this April 21, 1936 file photo Benito Mussolini walks in the rain during the 2,698th anniversary of the birth of Rome. A new documentary about Benito Mussolini examines the near cult-like fascination that Italians had with the fascist dictator and his body that continues today among his fans. "Il Corpo Del Duce," ("The Duce's Corpse") contains some gruesome, never-before-seen images of Mussolini's decayed corpse after he was hanged upside down in a Milan square on April 29, 1945 after being shot by anti-fascist partisans. The film, directed by Fabrizio Laurenti, is based on a book by Italian author Sergio Luzzato which literally follows the path of Mussolini's corpse from the gas station to a tomb in Predappio, his birthplace in northern Italy, where thousands of supporters still pay homage every year.
