Announcement was made Dec.7, 1956, at Princeton, N.J. Dr. Goheen will succeed Dr. Harold W. Dodds, who reaches the University's compulsory retirement age of 68 in June, 1957. On Monday, March 31, 2008, the university announced Goheen, president of Princeton University from 1957 to 1972 died of heart failure at the University Medical Center at Princeton. He was 88.
