Detroit Then And Now Photo Gallery

FILE - In this July 19, 1942 file photo, employees at the Chrysler Corporation's De Soto division building in Detroit work along the final assembly line of nose sections for Martin B-26 bombers. Using auto production lines, the company is turning out nose (control) sections and center (bomb bay) sections. Both parts are being constructed in their entirety for shipment to another location for final assembly with other sections of the plane. (AP Photo)
