BRAZIL TRAIN ROBBER

Famous convicted British train robber Ronnie Biggs, center, plays the tambourine with the Banda da Barra samba school during Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Feb 2, 1994. Final preparations were under way Sunday, May 6, 2001 for a bid to return Biggs to face British justice. Biggs has been issued with an emergency passport which will allow him to make a single, one-way trip back to Britain after 35 years on the run. A 14-seater jet chartered by a British newspaper is waiting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to bring him back. Biggs's lawyer announced that his client wanted to return to Britain with or without a pardon. (AP Photo/Renzo Gostoli)
