Paper bags like the ones carried by woman at right are rare. Because of the paper shortage many purchases are carried home without wrapping.12/21/1940

HE HAS BEEN LIVING IN EXILE IN ROME WITH HIS WIFE SINCE HIS ABDICATION AFTER HABIBULLAH'S REBELLION IN 1929. HE IS THE FATHER OF NINE CHILDREN.
