HE HAS BEEN LIVING IN EXILE IN ROME WITH HIS WIFE SINCE HIS ABDICATION AFTER HABIBULLAH'S REBELLION IN 1929. HE IS THE FATHER OF NINE CHILDREN.

King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother) touring bombed districts in North west London following Luftwaffe air raids, during World war II.  * 30/3/02:  The Queen Mother has died, Buckingham Palace announced.  She died peacefully in her sleep at Royal Lodge, Windsor.
