FILE - In this Feb. 22, 2011 file photo, Chicago mayoral candidate Gery Chico speaks to supporters in Chicago. Reform has long been a dirty word among Chicago politicians, who have well-known reputations for throwing contracts to favored businesses and dealing in patronage. But after the 2014 murder of a black teenager by a police officer and corruption charges filed against a powerful alderman, the word is now on the lips of the 14 candidates running for mayor. FILE - In this Feb. 25, 2011 file photo, Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar delivers a ball during a practice session ahead of their ICC Cricket World Cup match against Sri Lanka in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The international backlash following Australia captain Steve Smith's confession to cheating during the third test against South Africa that started Thursday March 22, 2018, defies the fact ball-tampering is about as old as the game of cricket itself. Pakistan's outspoken and fiery fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was banned for two one-day internationals and fined 75 per cent of his match fee for scratching the surface of the ball during ODI against New Zealand in Sri Lanka. File - In this Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 file photo, Egyptian protesters stand behind a barbed wire barricade in Tahrir Square in Cairo, Egypt. Ten years ago, an uprising in Tunisia opened the way for a wave of popular revolts against authoritarian rulers across the Middle East known as the Arab Spring. For a brief window as leaders fell, it seemed the move toward greater democracy was irreversible. Instead, the region saw its most destructive decade of the modern era. Syria, Yemen, Libya and Iraq have been torn apart by wars, displacement and humanitarian crisis. (AP Photo/Mohammed Abu Zaid)
