Peter Fonda, the star, co-writer and producer of the 1969 cult classic Easy Rider, has died at the age of 79. Peter Fonda was part of a veteran Hollywood family. As well as being the brother of Jane Fonda, he was also the son of actor Henry Fonda, and father to Bridget, also an actor.

The tug Point Valiant guides the 90-year-old CSS Acadia along the waterfront in Halifax to a shipyard for conservation work on November 17, 2003. A vintage navy vessel that survived world wars and the Halifax Explosion is falling victim to a more mundane threat -- the destructive force of salt water. The steel-hulled CSS Acadia is a central attraction at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax and is the only remaining vessel to have served the Royal Canadian Navy in both world wars.
