Afghan Taliban Poll 20100406

Residents of the village of Adamzai, Afghanistan, southwest of Kandahar City, file into a meeting - or shura - on March 29, 2010. A public opinion survey by the Canadian military, conducted last year, showed support for the Taliban in Kandahar province hit "an all-time high" last spring just as the U.S. was about to deploy reinforcements. The poll also found Afghans were more willing to accept economic, rather thasn military assistance. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Murray Brewster
