ITALY SECOND TOWER
** FILE ** The leaning tower of Pisa, right, and the Duomo basilica are seen during celebrations for the official ceremony marking the end of its restoration in this June 16, 2001 file photo, in Pisa, Italy. More than 600 years after the city's most famous monument went up, construction starts in June 2007 of a modern building that will simulate a tilt with a trick of lighting. But the project has stirred controversy, with opponents arguing its optical effect might make it too similar to the Italian landmark. The building, designed by architect Dante Oscar Benini, will house apartments and offices some 5 kilometers (3 miles) southeast of the real Leaning Tower. The new monument will be exactly as tall as the original one, 57.6 meters (63 yards). (AP Photo/Fabio Muzzi)
