PEREC OUT

France's Marie-Jose Perec on her way to take the third place of the women's 400 meter run at the Nikaia 2000 in Nice, French Riviera, Saturday, July 8, 2000. Perec, the mystery woman of the Sydney Olympics, now has completely disappeared. Perec, two-time defending champion in the 400 meters and a potential threat to favorite Cathy Freeman in the 400 at the Sydney Games, withdrew 24 hours before first-round heats in the event. She said she was menaced in her hotel room.(AP PHOTO/Lionel Cironneau)
