BUSH PROFILE

Texas Gov. George W. Bush cheers for the Texas Rangers Friday, Sept. 27, 1996, at The Ballpark in Arlington, Texas. Bush was the managing general partner for the Rangers before his 1994 gubernatorial win. Growing up, he was a Little Leaguer with infield dirt under his fingernails. As a teen-ager, he served as "high commissioner" of a stickball league. Bush the businessman became part owner of the Texas Rangers and helped design a new stadium for the Major League team.
