CP HISTORICAL ARCHIVE: THE CANADIAN PRESS HISTORIC BUREAU

The heart of The Canadian Press, the offices of Canada’s national news agency in Toronto, February 18, 1957. Editor Ab Fulford (back to camera) surveyed the newsroom operation from the main desk which controlled the flow of news from CP bureaus across Canada, the United States, Britain and from allied agencies. In the background, editors and teletype operators were busy handling news for 97 daily newspapers in 68 Canadian cities and 165 radio and television stations. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Gilbert A. Milne
