PATRIOT MISSILE
Patriot Missle is test fired September 11, 1986 at the White Sands Missle Range, NM. In a story in the March 23, 2000 edition of the Wall Street Journal, the Pentagon admitted hundreds of Patriot missiles in the Mideast and South Korea have had to be replaced because of technical flaws. A spokesman says the missiles were swapped out for newer ones after a pattern of technical glitches was discovered. The Patriot is used to defend against aircraft and short-range ballistic missiles.(AP Photo)
