SURPRISING MARLINS

Florida Marlins host the San Francisco Giants to a very small crowd in this April 6, 2000 in Miami. The sloppy but exciting 3 hour, 42-minute game drew a crowd of 8,365 - the smallest at Pro Player Stadium in the Marlins' eight-year history. The Marlins once drew 3 million fans for a season and 67,000 for the World Series. But the breakup of the 1997 World Series champions by former owner Wayne Huizenga soured South Florida on baseball, with attendance ina free fall ever since. (AP Photo/ Gary I. Rothstein)
