OBIT SEGAL

The sculpture "Portrait of Sidney Janis with Mondrian Painting," by George Segal is shown at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington in this March 4, 1998 photo. The sculpture, which was created in 1967, is a plaster cast of a renowned art dealer displaying an actual Mondrian painting. Segal, an American pop art icon of the '60s known for his life-size plaster sculptures, died Friday, June 9, 2000 at his New Jersey home after a long illness. He was 75. (AP Photo/Wilfredo Lee)
