NOBEL PEACE DIANA

Princess Diana uses a remote switch on Jan.15, 1997, to trigger the detonation of some explosive ordinance dug up by mine sweepers in Huambo, Angola. Diana was visiting Angola in an effort to raise awareness of the problem of land mines. The International Campaign to Ban Land Mines, of which Diana was the most visible supporter, and its campaign leader, Jody Williams, were awarded the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize Friday, Oct. 10, 1997. The man with Diana is unidentified. (AP Photo/Giovanni Diffidenti)
