Fishermen Lobsters

**FILE** Freshly caught lobsters stare up from their crate on Orr's Island, Maine, Nov. 16, 2001. The lobster industry presented a united front Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in opposition against a proposal aimed at helping ground fishermen and the Portland Fish Exchange by allowing trawlers to sell lobster that end up in their nets in Maine. Maine's $300 million lobster fishery is too important for state lawmakers to risk voting for the bill that would lead to more lobsters being landed by trawlers, putting pressure on broodstock that's responsible for the industry's health, they said.
