** FILE ** June 25, 2004 filer shows German cyclist Erik Zabel in Bonn, Germany.The German cycling union has picked sprint star Erik Zabel for the upcoming World Championship at home despite his admission of a doping past, the union announced Wednesday Aug. 29, 2007. Also included in the team was Andreas Kloeden, whose Astana team has been tainted by several high-profile doping cases. Zabel admitted in May that he took the blood booster EPO during the first week of the 1996 Tour de France, but never again.
