Fallujah US Vets
FILE - In this Tuesday, March 31, 2009 file photo, Marine Sgt. Ryan G. Weemer, walks to the courtroom at Camp Pendleton, Calif. On Thursday, April 9, 2009, a military jury acquitted Weemer on charges of murdering an unarmed detainee during battle in Fallujah, Iraq. The jury also acquitted him of dereliction of duty in the November 2004 death. A decade after the events in Iraq, Weemer says, "I carry Fallujah with me every day in the shrapnel that I still have in my legs and in the memory of my friends." The New York City resident survived a hand grenade and three gunshot wounds during the fighting in November 2004. "To see them with their backs against the wall, it's disheartening to see that happening again." (AP Photo/Lenny Ignelzi)
