KEVORKIAN PARDON

Dr. Jack Kevorkian, a 76-year-old assisted suicide advocate, is shown in this March 18, l998, file photo in Pontiac, Mich. A lawyer for Kevorkian asked the Michigan Parole Board on Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, to recommend Gov. Jennifer Granholm release his client citing a number of health problems. Kevorkian was sentenced to 10 to 25 years for the 1998 poisoning of Thomas Youk, who suffered from Lou Gehrig's disease. The death, which Kevorkian called a mercy killing, was videotaped and shown on national television. (AP Photo/Richard Sheinwald, file)
