OBIT KELLEY TOPIX

Johnny Kelley crosses the finish line in Boston, during his final run in the Boston Marathon in 1992. Kelley died Wednesday night, Oct. 6, 2004, at a Cape Cod, Mass., nursing home at the age of 97. Kelley won the Boston Marathon twice _ a heroic feat by any measure. But it was his staggering achievement of finishing the race a record 58 times for which Kelley will forever be known as an ``icon for all of running.'' His death came just three hours after he moved from his Dennis, Mass. home to the nearby Windsor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, his family said. (AP Photo/Charles Krupa, File)
