GERMANY SAP EARNS

** FILE ** The headquarters of German software maker SAP in Walldorf near Heidelberg in this Nov. 5, 2003 file photo. Business software maker SAP AG saw its U.S.-traded shares drop by as much as 10 percent after it warned late Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 that it would not meet its 2006 software license sales goals because of a slowdown in sales in the United States and Asia, both key markets. Because of the slowdown in the last three months of 2006, the company said it expected software sales growth for the year to be around 11 percent, or between 3.1 billion Euro (US$4.03 billion) to 2.8 billion Euro (US$3.64 billion), far less than the previous guidance of between 15 percent and 17 percent.
