HUNGARY OBIT PUSKAS

** FILE **Hungarian soccer legend Ferenc Puskas is seen in this archive image dated April 4, 2002 in Budapest, Hungary. Puskas died on Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at the age of 79 in Budapest's Kutvolgyi Hospital where he was admitted in 2000 with Alzheimer's disease. Puskas was part of Hungary's famed "Golden Team" of the 1950s, which won a gold medal at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, in 1953 became the first team from outside Britain to defeat England at home, and lost the final of the 1954 World Cup to West Germany. He sored 84 goals in 85 internationals for Hungary, as well 515 goals in 529 professional league matches. He defected to Spain after the 1956 Hungarian revolution joining Real Madrid. Nicknamed "Pancho", he led the Spanish league in scoring four times and won three European cup titles and five league titles from 1958-1967. (AP Photo/Peter Szalmas)
