Murrin Double Murder

Shannon Murrin and Kathy MacDonald at their home in Portugal Cove, N.L., on Wednesday, Jan.31,2007. Murrin’s life story could make for a work of pulp fiction. The 56-year-old finds himself in the middle of a bizarre double-murder case in Newfoundland, seven years after he was acquitted of a child slaying that continues to haunt British Columbia. Three weeks ago, police charged his former friend with murder in the fatal shootings of Dale Worthman and Kimberley Lockyer. Their disappearance in 1993 marked the beginning of one of Newfoundland’s longest missing persons investigations. The couple’s skeletal remains were found last July.(CP PHOTO/Rhonda Hayward) Canada
