Quebec police to ticket those flouting COVID-19 health rules

On the eve of a 28-day lockdown order for the province's two largest cities, Premier Francois Legault said police are being asked to crack down on Quebecers violating the new rules imposed to reduce rising COVID-19 infections. Those flouting rules on private gatherings, outdoor gatherings or mandatory masks during protests can face $1,000 fines as of Thursday.
